Endurance

James 1:2-4
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

The Lord isn’t asking that we smile at trouble itself, or deny that the trouble actually exists. God would never ask us to be joyful over something tragic, destructive or sad. But in time, you’re going to be able to say, “Through that loss or disappointment, or troubled time, God grew me up. God made me stronger.”

Can you ask God today for the ability to persevere and endure in the trial? ~Credit: Karl Martins, 2011
