Faith Comes by Hearing

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of the Lord (Romans 10:17).

Is your faith not growing? The text above can almost be paraphrased simply as ‘more of God’s word, more of faith’, with the help of the Holy Spirit of course. What do you spend your time hearing, reading or listening to? Programs that cause doubt or bring guilt? Voices the criticize and only remind of your weaknesses and failures? Or the Word of God that brings life, sets free, builds faith and confidence in the Lord ?

Make a practice of  hearing & reading only what builds you up in the Lord.

Every blessing, in Christ Jesus.

About Just-A-Thought

Life can get very busy, fast and heavy. Sometimes living can become a challenge as life seems to always throw us at the deep end. In times like that, we need encouragement, a word of hope, a voice that assures that it gets better; that we should hang on. Just-A-Thought offers Christian words of hope in dispair, light in darkness, and strength to carry on.

When my daughters were in their teens, we conducted an experiment. They were permitted to listen to whatever kind of music they wanted to for one week. The following week, they only listened to gospel music. Their attitudes were remarkably different. They even admitted they felt differently and behaved differently. They said they felt calmer and more in control of their emotions when they listened to Christian music. It didn’t stop them from listening to secular music, but they learned the importance of balance in our walk with Christ. Input equals output in our world. The more of Christ we put into our spirits the more like Him we will become.
