How strange this mix of fear and faith,
When foundations are shaken,
And anchors disappear like water on sand.
Ah, what torment, what anguish,
“Help lord. Please help”, the midnight cry repeats
Suddenly, I remember your word-
Your arms are not too short to rescue,
Nor your ears deaf to hear.
Faith will triumph over fear, again,
For my God always comes through-
Yes, He always does.
His every promise is “yes”.

The heavens proclaim
the glory of God;
The skies declare his majesty and power.
Day after day, night after night,
they make him known.
Without a voice,
yet their message goes out to all the earth.
This is creation pointing to its maker
I am wonderfully and fearfully made!
I am the crown of God’s creation,
Apple of His eye,
I too, will point to my maker.
I must, I will bring him praise all my days
No rock will cry out in my place.
Lets see who praises loudest, creation.
It’s a dare!

You spoke the stars into existence;
You know their number,
and call each by name!
The sun, You made to shine by day,
the moon, by night.
The whole universe You skilfully crafted-
a theatre of your glory and power.
O how great You are!
How small I am!
Proud. Unbelieving. Selfish.
But like a flower,
Blossom. Wither. Fall. Gone.
Such are the days appointed to me.
Yet, like the stars,
You know me by name;
And care for my every need.
The glory of heaven,
You gave up for me.
How wonderful the thought,
That You, who is Lord of creation,
And centre of Heaven’s praise,
Could make a home in this poor heart of mine.
Lord, help my weak, fickle,
Proud, Unbelieving and Selfish heart.
May Your life be repeated in mine.

“The moon has no glory of its own except that which it receives from the dazzling sun. And so are we! We will know no true and lasting glory until we turn to the Sun of Righteousness, the Sun of our souls to receive grace to do that which we were first fashioned to do- reflect the glory of the Lord”

For anyone that might be struggling with mistakes of the past….May you know the grace and mercy of God through this poem.
He came to my desk with quivering lip–
The lesson was done.
“Dear Teacher I want a new leaf,” he said,
“I have spoiled this one.”
I took the old leaf, stained and blotted,
And gave him a new one all unspotted,
And into his sad eyes smiled,
“Do better now, my child.”
I went to the throne with a quivering soul–
The old year [day] was done.
“Dear Father, hast Thou a new leaf for me?
I have spoiled this one.”
He took the old leaf, stained and blotted,
And gave me a new one all unspotted,
And into my sad heart smiled,
“Do better now, My child.”
