Persistence & Determination

“If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination. The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying, ‘Here comes number seventy-one!'” ~ Richard M. DeVos.

Every blessing….with prayer.

About Just-A-Thought

Life can get very busy, fast and heavy. Sometimes living can become a challenge as life seems to always throw us at the deep end. In times like that, we need encouragement, a word of hope, a voice that assures that it gets better; that we should hang on. Just-A-Thought offers Christian words of hope in dispair, light in darkness, and strength to carry on.

Love this one! Exactly what I was thinking today. Determination, persistance and faith – in your dreams and ability to achieve your goals! And what is it that we can’t do in Christ?! 🙂

  2. Dominic says :

True that! What is that we can’t do in Christ?! Thanks for commenting Tusia. All the best

  3. Jones says :

spot on! but why number seventy-one?

  4. Dominic says :

Hi Jones, thanks for passing by. I suppose it is simply a way to emphasise that the trials may be numerous…’for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again’ Prov 24:16. Its not really about the number then, but that one should persist through tough situations, no matter how many or how often…any thoughts?

  5. Dominic says :

A pleasure Jones. See you back on the blog next week?

  6. Tolu says :

Determination is a true gift, perhaps one of the best. Out of it cmes perseverance, resilience & fortitude
. Not all Christians are determined, indeed much of our failure is not from lack of trying but from giving up too quickly. But all successful people are determined, be they Christians or not.
I am committed to my dream so I choose to be determined to win.

Well said Tolu. I’ll remember this one “indeed much of our failure is not from lack of trying but from giving up too quickly”.
      Thanks for passing by!
